The cell phone forwarding is pretty handy. The conference call features are pretty sofisticated, and reliable (which is mega important when it comes to conference calls).
It's not very user friendly or intuitive, and doesn't have very many out of box integrations. I guess I just expect a lot more from a VOIP service in 2021. Their could be a lot more built in tools that would really elevate the experience of using ring central in a corporate setting.
Ring central is amazing when it comes to conference calls, super easy to setup and send out invites, even more so when they are last minute. This VOIP tool is easy to set up, easy to scale across a company as a communication tool, but still needs some updating to compete with others in the marketplace and fulfill more business needs in a more streamlined way.
The ease of scheduling meeting from anywhere, phone, computer, laptop. I like the features that I can have my desk phone right on my laptop and can conduct business as usual from any location. Ring Central meetings is easy to send an email to a client to schedule a phone or video conference
There are multiple sites to access to set up your system. I have three app on my desktop along with the desk phone. It can get very confusing on which one accesses which feature. I also didn't like the fact that we couldn't get the same phone number with different extensions for our office. I think there are features of ring central that we have not used or are not aware that are available to us.
Setting up video meeting during covid was easy and worked well. Once we all figured out which app to use and how to manage the add in for Outlook we were very successful setting up weekly meetings. We had no issues getting our clients into meeting and screen sharing proposals. We use this on a weekly basis for team meeting when our employees are at home.
Space bar for unmuting makes it so you are only heard when you need to be.
Sometimes I can't find the toolbar after going to fullscreen
Regular Stand Up meetings allow us to share screens easily
The meetings work very well. They are easy to schedule and we haven't had anyone have any issues other than their own connectivity.
I haven't found anything I dislike so far. scheduling a meeting is right through outlook, so there's no additional steps that are required to put it on my calendar like some other apps meeting software I have used in the past.
RingCentral Meetings has helped us cut out a lot of travel for meetings. We now do them virtually, and everyone gains back anywhere from 1-3 days of productivity. This is huge for sales people that could be the difference in a sale or a missed opportunity.
It has turned out to be an excellent option when making my video calls since it has a fairly simple interface to use, and the audio and video quality are excellent, which allows communication to be fluid throughout the conversation, Another thing that I love is the fact that it allows me to make recordings of the calls I'm in, in a very practical way since it gives me the option to choose if I need to record only audio or if on the contrary I need to record only the video or even allows me to record both together, this is a function that I find super useful, especially after conducting my work meetings, if I have any questions or do not remember something, I can simply listen to the recording again and easily dispel my doubts without having to call someone again to explain what needs to be done, for me it has become a very valuable tool.
Being in the screen sharing function, the sound made by the mouse when clicking any element on the screen is very loud, which is somewhat overwhelming for the rest of the attendees in the meeting.
It has allowed me to maintain direct communication with my co-workers while we carry out our teleworking tasks each from their home, this has been very useful to maintain the rhythm of work we had before quarantine, where our productivity It was quite high compared to other work teams of our same institution but that was impacted by the quarantine and it was reduced a little, but thanks to this tool we have been able to help each other again to increase our efficiency ...
Ease of installation of applications on mobile devices for our employees working remotely, also how the integration is very good at connecting to our office phones via the console.
Sometimes the service dips for no reason, either it's our firewall or it's the RingCentral service itself. We are yet to pinpoint. The new app is also rather clunky compared to the old phone app.
Cheap and reliable replacement for our traditional phone system, with room for expansion on the fly and to enable users to work from home.
It allows you to take down information when you are on the move. I have clients and prospects calling me with needed information between appointments and I am able to ask them the information that I need and then listen to the call and jot those notes down later on.
I do not like that their is no user friendly mobile app to access the information when not in front of the computer you have to use your phones browser.
Verify what was said and accurately have valid conversations. Able to take down notes and prevents miscommunication.
that it's very easy to use and that we can share our screen in just a click.
that when we screen share the other person or the person I have a meeting with has delays. I don't know if it's RC or my internet connection but it's disappointing we can't do a proper screen share.
it loads not most of the time but some times. and that if the screen share can be less buggy.
I like that we can switch control between users. There are times that I need to see our programmer's page to see what pathway they are using or a sample of work within another computer program that I normally wouldn't be able to see. I can also jump in and share my screen when needed. I feel it is even easier than working together in person since we can talk and show screens at the same time.
Sometimes when switching between users as the host in sharing a screen, it will "freeze" or not allow you to continue smoothly between the transitions. I have had times that whoever logs in to the call first has the most success with sharing their screen, but they may not necessarily be the facilitator to the meeting, so there should be a better transition.
The main problem we are solving is having people all of the country need to come together for a meeting. We need to be able to see, hear, and share screens without having to come together in person. A problem we are solving is that the visual screen share option is incredibly helpful compared to strictly a phone conference. I can show files/examples of what I need and I know we are looking at the same information. Another benefit is being able to have multiple people on the line.
We have incorporated ring central with outlook for our scrum meetings.
Changing from the regular outlook meetings to ring central could be a bit overwhelming at the beginning. Specially, if you are not very familiar with the software.
Security issues on meetings were resolved by switching to Ring Central.
RingCentral Meetings is incredibly user friendly. I was hesitant about making the transition and asking client to download the app versus just clicking a link, but it was super easy and clients really appreciate the great video quality and different features available.
the screen freezes, which don't happen often - but once in a great while - but that is more to do with the internet quality versus the program
I love being able to include handouts and other materials to the meetings as well as the recording of sessions for further review
The thing I like best about Ring Central is that you get other services (such as the Ring Central productivity app) as well.
They seem to have a lot of glitches. My account has been suspended a few times without ever getting a real explanation.
It’s a great way to pull together people from all over the world and meet with them as if you’re in the same room. We’re also getting to finally hold those seminars that logistically have not been possible. We often leave meeting open for people to just check in through out the work week.
Simple to set up conference calls and online presentations, even with outside users who do not have Ring Central accounts. Works great for our agency as we have both satellite offices as well as an office based in London, England.
Sometimes joining through the phone or joining through the web links can be confusing. There is also an echo if you login through the phone and your computer.
Easy to use web conferencing and video conferencing tool; voice quality works well with members of the team who are based internationally, as well as in satellite offices.
I like how Ring Central clears up space on your desk for more of your much needed items, such as picture frames and zen plants. Since we are cooped up in an office building for 9+ hours a day, It's nice to have some additional space on your desk to make you feel like your home, and not in a cubical in a city 20+ miles from your home. I like how it's click to dial, the app is useful, I use this product on a daily basis and never have any issues. I use this for texting my customers so I don't have to give out my personal cell to everyone. This makes my customers feel more welcome to our business and have a line of communication that seems more personal.
I don't have too many dislikes other than the headphones they came with are not the best, but they aren't too bad either. I wish they also had video sharing? Which they might have but we have other tools for that too. If I could say something I dislike, it's that i have too many tools at my company. Ring Central should be enough to suffice calling a lead/customer.
the business problems i'm trying to accomplish with ring central is to have quality lag free meetings with customers and potential clients while clearing up space on our desks for more meaningful items such as photos, plants and calming objects. I have realized I have more room for activities, and my customers (when i call them using ring central) never have issues. The app works great and I use that more then I use Ring Central on the Apple Mac they provide to us.
Ringcentral is a very complete tool for all types of VOIP needs, it has many available features associated with this task, in addition, it is very easy to install and configure, a couple of clicks, accept and already installed and running, the administration of this tool from its configuration panel, it also becomes quite simple, another tool that I can not miss from ringcentral is its voice to text converter, this has saved me many times in some support cases, since some clients are very difficult to understand Some words when they speak, and with this characteristic, I can understand exactly what they say, I love that.
Some features are not easy to understand, being so many tools is difficult to give full use of this application, I think the support can improve a lot at this point, and give periodic recommendations on how to use them, the website is missing much information about certain characteristics, and it is not that much information is found on the web, should create something like a weekly magazine, with periodic updates, and constant information about the good, and full use of this application.
When each support person has their own work tools, such as phone numbers and their own extensions, to provide solutions to the different cases of customer service, this is a facility for each employee, and helps develop a more timely way all kinds of work, in addition to the automatic pre-recorded answers, you can save at any time, when you are busy giving solution to another person, and do not have time, to respond to all.
Connectivity between the physical office phone, the desktop software, and the smartphone app. The physical phones themselves are very nice and well made.
The connectivity to your smartphone does take away a little bit from work-life balance.
An upgrade to the classic physical office phones in each cubicle.
All calls, incoming and outgoing are recorded and the calls can be backed up offsite via Dropbox.
There is no way to prompt people on outbound calls to remind them to tell the other caller the call is being recorded.
All users are accountable for what they tell a customer, and customers cannot falsely claim they were told something. We've benefited by being able to investigate problems with orders to determine what was requested and what the response to the request was.
The meetings are easy to set up. You are able to send the invite to the patricipants.
Sometimes the meeting drops. It's a good system for the cost, but Ring Central is known to drop calls and meetings. Sucks when you are in a middle of a meeting.
It's cheeper than GoTo Meeting. You can have more people in the meeting.
The ability to use the app on my iPhone and take or make a call from anywhere; also the ability to text from my work line.
Sometimes the line cuts out or the transfers don't work.
The ability to work from anywhere.
Quick and easy setup of events plus google calendar integration.
Too many window pop-outs. Would like a better dash/control panel.
We utilized another meeting app that was more expensive than adding Meetings to our Ring Central phone account. It also lets us reach larger audiences than free versions.
