I didn't see any up-side to switching from desktop to the online version.
I don't want my data stored in the cloud. Now The online version is the only choice. Cost has increased, features have decreased, and chat help support was nearly impossible. I just built my own with the features I need.

Closing and finishing using the app. It looks like the software will be easy but nothing is intuitive,
It is created for people with accounting knowledge, so makes tax difficult. Open banking is limited to only a few U.K. banks. If something goes wrong the chat bot is terrible and impossible to speak to a human. Current software glitch means after 2 weeks VAT return still not submitted.
It causes more problems than it solves. HMRC requires digital submissions otherwise Excel would be better and less time consuming.
i have a really bad experience with this company, at the end i lost all my data and create another one with a different competitor, at the end i don't recommend for anyone.
- blackmailers. - liars. - And the support like the gangbang. - facing bugs while changing the currency.
facing bugs while changing the currency and more things.
Honestly i don't i like much about this app.the only interesting thing about quickbook online is only the fact that it is very easy to use in any device. Apart from that, the app have been so.terrible over the last 2 years with frustrating customer service especially when it comes to small businesses.
There are alot of things that i dislike about quick book online. One of the greatest draw back of Quickbook online is that the app has become so inconvenient and expensive for our small businesses. Once our businesses started to grow and number of employees kept rising and we needed some conversation inorder to be more accessible for my workers,QBO started giving me limited intergration opportunities. We then tried to connect other business tools but the app was not robust as we excepted. We realized that if you depend on certain quickbook integration you have to research about its availability before buying it. QBO not could not allow me to create new accounts for more invitation link to my business as it grows. Our representatives have quite alot tried to reach for help but their end users have always made it difficult to get good customer service. In simple terms i can describe their customer services as terrible. Setting up payments using quickbooks inorder for customers to pay via credit cards its very expensive to my clients since in every single transaction there is a processing fee.The processing of credit cards was very awful. Onaly the first credit card was processed in the reasonable time. The rest, funds were withheld for months with no end insight which is more demololizing. I am a disappointed about QBO and to anybody thinking about using Quickbooks online for expense management, please avoid them at all cost.
We have been using QBO for all my accounts receivable and expense management and i honestly don't have something solid we have benefited from the software.
I use Quickbooks for tracking job cost expenses via the check register.
Not sure where to start right now. 1. Support has been outsourced and they do not understand the product. My payroll was not working correctly. The support person told me I would have to delete ALL of my payroll and rebuild it. That might have been an option in January but this was September. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? 2. The cost has gone up significantly (probably to pay for the outsourcing) 3. If you need to move to a different company, or close your business, UNLESS you pay $554 per year, you will lose all of your data. I don't understand as the LAW says you have to keep it for 7 years and if you have used Quickbooks for any length of time, you will need to print boxes and boxes to comply with the LAW. 4. I have paid $325 - $355 per year for many years to use Quickbooks. This year, after lockdowns due to COVID, and with so many businesses trying to stay in business, Quickbooks raised its price to $554 per year. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. 5. When you attempt to call the only phone number listed as a US Office: 650-944-6649 the recording says they are not accepting calls. 6. If you are lucky enough to get transferred to a supervisor when you call sales or support, they say they will listen but will not share your concerns as that is not their job. 7. They do not care about their customers in any way. It appears they are possibly catering to the larger customer.
It is easy to balance your checking account and track cost from your check register.
I liked that I could send invoices to customers abroud, until this happened ...
My customer paid the invoice I sent him, he received a receipt, money was transferred to my Quickbooks account, and after a day or two of processing, they were deposited to my bank account. The customer received services he paid for, and a week late I see that the whole transfer amount was deducted from my bank account. I didn`t receive any explanation at all, I didn’t get any email from QuickBooks whatsoever. I had to call them and spend 2 hours on the phone to hear that cause of the currency difference they had to refund the amount to a customer. And they just suggested that I contact the customer and ask him to pay again. I thought that if you pay monthly fees for a payment system, then once this system accepts, processes and deposits the payment it means that it accepted, processed, and deposited the payment. How come they can come a week later and say that there was an error and now you on your own have to get your money back? They definitely do not protect either the seller or the customer. They protect just their business and all “your bank account is safe with us" is such a joke. How do I know the same situation won`t happen to me again? If the system processes the payment and deposits it to my bank account, how can they just take my money back and say that there was some system error? Sounds like a robbery and a reason to call a lawyer to me

The ease of working is the best thing about Quickbooks. Additionally, connecting it with the bank account is a fantastic feature as it is easy to keep of various transactions happening from the bank account.
Quickbook is stopping its services in India from April 2023.
My entire company accounts on the cloud with QuickBooks, and I can refer my accounts from wherever I am. My team is a lot more productive with Quickbooks as a lot of redundant tasks have been avoided.
The awful experience I have had over the past three months with Quickbooks Customer Support has wholly negated any potential upsides for working with Quickbooks.
I have owned a small contracting business using Quickbooks for several years. I recently decided to set up Quickbooks Payments to allow my customers to pay their invoices via credit card. There was a processing fee that came with each transaction, but I decided that the convenience of quick payment was worth the cost. I was utterly mistaken. The first credit card payment made to my business was processed in a reasonable timeline. The second payment, made a few days later, was held up by Quickbooks for review. They requested additional information be sent to them (bank statements) to verify my account. This request was completed within a day. Since that point nearly three months ago, I have called Quickbooks on four separate occasions to get some explanation as to why my payment was being withheld. Every conversation I had with their service team took over an hour. No one could give me an actual explanation, but they always guaranteed me that the payment would be released within two business days. It has been almost three months, and I still have not received payment or an explanation. The lack of communication, direction, and, most importantly, the payment has caused me to lose all faith in Quickbooks. These actions are causing my company to be on the brink of dissolving. Please, take my advice and avoid Quickbooks at all costs. Regretfully, A disappointed business owner.

There customer service either calls you back or picks up quickly. However, good luck as Jeff my agent today lied to me on multiple occasions and when he got caught quickly denied and said he had to end the call because he couldnt do anything further for me.
They do not stand behind their mistakes. A software company is only as good as its ability to take responsibility for its actions. When Quickbooks was first started out I bet the owners didn't want to own a company that is irresponsible to its clients. I have been using this Quickbooks before it was called Quickbooks. I had a problem where Quickbooks failed to send 941 payments but said it had in the software. Now they want to use every single excuse in the book to defer and said its not their fault when it clearly is. They fail to see that I have paid them for multiple companies for over 10 years and they want to lose a customer for $100 worth of fees. I am switching over all my customers and business from Quickbooks to a platform that is responsible to its customers.
I thought they were solving a problem but they are just a bandaid. They dont stand behind the software they sell. When they sell a payroll software and the software clearly malfunctions and the customer is hit with fees they hide. Cowards.
Nice to have the software available across multiple devices.
No communication from QBO about functionality changes (features appear and disappear). Price going up up up up. Value doing down down down.
Online accounting software (SAAS).
Cloud software means you can access it anywhere.
Their support is absolutely horrible. QBO stopped pulling in my bank transactions, I've had six (and counting) hour-long support calls and no one has fixed the issue for 3+ months. They repeatedly tell me the ticket has "been escalated" and that engineering will send me an update "tomorrow". This has been going on for 90 days now and there is no recourse. I'm a small business owner and don't have the time to take on the massive project of migrating everything over to another accounting system. It's beyond frustrating to be this powerless when the product doesn't work and you're trapped using them (on top of all the other headaches running a small business).
Small business accounting and payroll management.
Ease of signing up. I am not sure what else
12 days after signing up for a free trial and being charged over $120 i decided to cancel. They let me cancel but refunded NOTHING. Buyer beware!
Nothing, I decided not to use it
Nothing. I couldn't even make one invoice in self-employed. Customer service spent more time looking up my account than actually answering my question, which they never answered. Extremely disappointing.
You cannot add or edit your company name on an invoice. The invoice literally says "No company name". I can't send it to clients like that. I tried to add a company name through entering it in 'first name' and 'last name' but that didn't work. Then I tried following the QuickBooks online forum but "Edit work info" button wasn't an option. Then I reached out to customer service but he took 10 minutes to pull up my account then just kept telling me to "hang tight while he pulled up my account". Umm, this isn't a complex issue. I just want to access the BASIC feature of putting my company name on an invoice. I have never had such hassle with a basic feature. I signed up for Freshbooks and it was SO EASY to create an invoice. I asked QuickBooks for a refund but they responded that the fact you can't actually use the software isn't grounds for a refund, haha. That just proves my point about customer service (and I asked for a refund the same day I bought the service, and they can clearly see I didn't use it since no invoices were sent). Horrible product and horrible service.
It is not solving any problems. Couldn't even create a simple invoice. Useless service.
The software is easy to use. It is a complete platform.
Chat support is awful, the worst support for an enteprise software. Nothing gets resolved since their rep is obviously chatting with 5 other customers at the same time. They distract you with million of questions, but by the time they are ready to give you more time, its been 15 mins and I'm gone. This happened at least 20 times just to resolve 1 simple issue. Quickbooks has bugs that caused fees and penalties. The rates are correct, but the backend is not correctly calculating so we ended up underpaying state taxes for months. That is a very serious and costly mistake that should not be happening with a multimillion-dollar enterprise software.
1 complete platform. That's all I can think of. Am I benefitting financially? No, I'm worse off financially since I had to pay hundreds of dollars of penalties for the underpayment of taxes, caused by Quickbooks buggy backend system.
Nothing, I've had so many issues and have lost so much time troubleshooting these issues on Quickbooks that I only have negative sentiments towards the product.
It is exceptionally complicated to make simple fixes to my accounts in Quickbooks Online. Intuit also puts advertisements for more Quickbooks services into my online Quickbooks dashboard. Advertisements that appear in front of and above my accounting reports. I regret having switched from Freshbooks to QBO. Freshbooks provided all the functions I needed and introduced none of the miscategorization problems that I often encounter in Quickbooks. The biggest two problems QBO has introduced into my business are 1) lots of time is spent fixing accounting errors 2) my late payments rate has increased on recurring invoices. 1) I don't know why I have so many duplicate entries, so many expenses and receipts in the wrong accounts, nor why it is so time consuming and difficult to fix these problems. I often find myself reading 2-3 QBO help articles, just so that I can address one simple problem and fix it. 2) Clients must make an Intuit account (or login to an existing Intuit account, which introduces confusion) to setup recurring payments. Clients should be allowed to simply enter a credit card. Stripe can do this easily. QBO should do this too. There should be no need to make an Intuit account to pay my invoices. I am disappointed with QBO. It's a constant source of frustration and it wastes so much of my time. I wish I had not switched to Quickbooks.
Quickbooks has not helped me solve any issues. This software has only introduced more problems and work (work required to fix problems) into my work routine. None of the upgraded features that I have tried (for example, using the Pro plan, employee time tracking) have worked for my business because these tools are so difficult to use and because they introduce so many errors into my accounts. For example, duplicate entries, auto-categorization rules that miscategorize expenses, auto-categorization rules that turn on without my having approved or created them.
Relatively straight forward in terms of implementation for a new or pre-existing business.
Quickbooks has created a closed ecosystem that all but forces you to use their payment merchant services (no native Stripe or other 3rd party processor integrations). I recently did a QBO deployment for one of our businesses and enabled online payments for a new invoice that we generated. QBO had no problem adding the online payment link to the invoice, which the customer subsequently used to make payment. This is where the fun started. Only once the client payment had been successfully received, did I get a notice from QBO that the deposit to my account had been put on hold until they could "verify" my account / business information. Fair enough, I understand the requirement and had gone through similar processes with several providers before. However, after submitting our (very straightforward) documentation requirements, I was informed that Intuit had denied our merchant application. No reason given. No opportunity to rectify. Just denied. In addition, the customer payment that triggered the verification would be held for 270 DAYS! as a "security deposit". Here's the response from their 'support': "Alright, A bit of bad news. Intuit closed your account as a business decision. These decisions are final unfortunately. So with the payment you have processed. You would have to have the customer dispute the payment with their bank or card company. Then take the funds another way or it will sit on the account as a security deposit for 270 days. Then you would have to reach out 271st day to receive the funds. I am sorry for the inconvenience and I do apologize. Unfortunately, Where Intuit is considered a low risk processor, and sole proprietary company. They don't have to provide notifications for closures or give the reason for closing the account as a business decision. I am sorry." So I'm left with 1 of 2 choices: Ask the customer to try reverse the payment from their end (not a great look) and try collect payment online through the clunky, non integrated payment processor options in QBO. Or go cap in hand to Intuit in 271 days time to ask if they wouldn't be so kind as to release the (significantly sized) customer deposit that decided to unilaterally hold onto with no information, clarity or recourse. In summary, be careful of deploying QBO if you want to collect payments online. I can't recommend this solution for anyone beyond a 'mom & pop' style business.
No significant benefit at this time, have decided to move a competitor.
I like the QB app to capture receipts. I liked seeing all my accounts together.
AVOID Intuit QuickBooks unless you want to lose hours and hours trying to get your money!!! My client paid $3,000 in January and QuickBooks refuses to release my funds. Instead they inexplicably canceled my business account (“we don’t have to tell you why according to the agreement you signed”) and refused to relinquish my funds! Today I wasted ANOTHER hour and a half fighting with a chat agent who merely said, “we will review your case within 270 days, and either re-review or release your funds to the state.” EXCUSE ME??? I am BEYOND FRUSTRATED with them. THREE TIMES I’ve spent hours on phone or chat and they rattle off some policy that says, “We can screw you any way we want.” I rarely post negative reviews but I’m actively campaigning this time so others don’t get suckered out of their hard earned funds. I feel violated. PLEASE do yourselves a solid and avoid these crooks! #thieves #crooks
They have caused far more problems than they solved. I loathe these crooks for stealing my money and canceling my account without any info as to when I can expect my funds. They've kept it for four months.
The hold time for a customer service agent.
I didn't like how my company's were treated. We opened 6 quickbooks online and payroll accounts, I was sent fraud emails immediately after running my first payroll. We sent over all documents requested and accounts. After 48 hours a email was sent for each business stating our businesses are high risk for fraud and they'll be closing our accounts and won't be reopening them EVER, after speaking with several reps, no one knew anything and couldn't explain to me what was happening. I couldn't pay my employees for 2 weeks and had to meet everyone and apologize for the inconvenience with paper checks. All the reps kept saying is after they verify the payroll account everything would be fine. After a couple more days the entire Quickbooks online account was deactivated an error messaged popped up saying my login is invalid and no account was found. Rep stated send in the list of documents again to verify my account. Did that and it took another 2 days to verify. Finally the account got unlocked. 2 weeks of unexplained delays, no apology, no payroll explanation, just mistreated for being a serial entrepreneur and black owned business.
I didn't solve anything I'm looking for another software to accommodate my businesses.
The Direct Invoicing ability and ease of ability for clients to pay
The incredibly high and percentage share that quickbooks takes for payments
Invoicing and accounting, I used a email and paper invoice system in the past
The program itself is fine, but customer support is impossible!
Customer support is NON EXISTENT! You get transferred to the Philippines, where they have to wait for a "back end Team" by chat! who never answer - hours and days waiting!
Indentity Fraud. They blocked me, but apparently the fraudster still had access using my email! I provided Photo ID, confirmed receipt and still no access
