All functions works as expected and allows to fully cover hiring processing. I like that we don't forget to leave feedbacks as Greenhouse reminds people after interview to do that. Also, I like that I can search old candidates and see all activity feed.
The biggest issue for me when I started to use this service is that sometimes I don't understand what and how will be exposed to candidate. I mean, I see some button which looks like I need to click to complete some action, but I don't know what will happen afer the click - may my internal feedback be send to candidate or not. I mean, they need more explicit border between public functions(interview schedule and so) and some danger zone for other internal functions (feedbacks/decisions). Also I don't like their mobile website as it's completely unusable for me as it's show only interviews/scorecards for upcoming or due interviews - no ability to use all functions from mobile website - I always switch to desktop version on mobile, but as you may guess it's not convinient to use because of scale size and buttons which you can't conviniently use - the app just not adopted to use on mobile.
Whole process of hiring is in one place which result to have all information in convenient form and with search ability. We can see when, how and what happened when the candidate came to us. Prevously we used spreadsheets and all departments has it's own spreadsheets and often for example we interviewed the same candidates without knowing that there is already feedback that we can take to consideration.
Greenhouse is rather intuitive. Users learn fast. Support is very helpful and the articles on Zendesk are comprehensive. Overall a very complete tool. It adds to our recruitment efforts.
It's very expensive. Recently they started using a new pricing model that raised the costs and they are evolving to having more functionalities (onboarding and sourcing automation) but all of that comes with a second price tag. It's good for medium size companies, but after 1500 employees you'll start feeling the limitations in terms of making changes at a scalable level, introduce several levels of permissions and customize segments like the internal job board or the referral program.
It's helpful to manage our candidates, trach them and collect data. We can learn from our efforts and improve our productivity. Automatic reminders are good, it helps us diminish the manual follow ups.
Greenhouse has fantastic analytics tools to keep your recruiting goals in view at all times. I love the customizable scorecards for interviews as well as it helps our org collect consistent, unbiased feedback based of criteria, not just "feelings" of interviewers.
The Onboarding tool is a separate charge from the Recruiting tool. Some features that feel like they should be built out (like a Hiring manager token for offer letters) aren't available unless you purchase the Onboarding tool.
We've hired more folks this year than ever before in the company's history, and it's because Greenhouse helped us stay organized and on task. I've used other ATS options that were maddeningly complex. Greenhouse is intuitive and straightforward.
Recently Greenhouse has released a number of Diversity and Inclusion updates at no additional cost to its partners. I feel this particular update was very helpful in addressing unconscious bias in interviewers, recruiters, and hiring managers in a subtle but clear way.
Greenhouse's native reporting features are quite limited -- you are required to have an in-house BDI connector and an expert in that kind of thing to get any kind of nuance to your candidate/job data.
With recent updates, we have been able to easily standardize our job postings (a huge win considering how many recruiters/hiring managers we have on our team posting jobs at once). It's also quite easy to track almost any candidate communication in their profile's activity feed by simply CC'ing Greenhouse's "fly on the wall" alias. This helps ensure that we track all communications so there's never an opportunity for a dropped ball.
Greenhouse has empowered our team to own a data-driven recruiting strategy for all our positions. The intuitive reporting functionality captures key insights enabling us to adapt quickly. As a customer I also feel very valued and partner with the team, learning frequently about their product roadmap and able to give feedback often on current and new features.
If I had to pick something - it would be the UI of the internal job board. I think it could use some improvement to help promote internal applications more.
Our previous ATS made it difficult to run intuitive reports and customize our recruiting processes to the role in need. We found there is not one process to hire every person on, different roles require different assessments. The customization available on Greenhouse allowed us to do this, whilst maintaining a structured assessment model and having a more data driven approach to our recruiting decisions.
I've used Greenhouse for years -- best ATS I've worked with. Empowers equity in hiring, is clear and highly customizable, and supercharges data-driven and industry-leading hiring practices.
Data dashboarding tools could be more effective. Data integrity is good but we use external tools to dashboard our data to actually get the most value/insights from the product.
Hiring to plan, scaling quickly, and finding and attracting values-aligned talent.
Forces discussion about recruiting workflow and planning for hiring/interviews in a way our previous ATS did not. For a small startup, that was useful conversation. A number of third party integrations are better built in by default compared to other solutions that charge additional fees. Much nicer default integration with our website than our previous solution.
Our previous ATS made it easy for an admin to get a 10,000 ft view of the current hiring status in the company - who was in the pipeline, what stages they were at, etc. It was also easy to quickly review feedback or notes on candidates. With Greenhouse, that's a lot harder - there is no single high-level view I can find even as a super admin and I have to drill down into each role. Reviewing any specific information (names of active candidates, current statuses) means I'm forced through a particular workflow each time rather than just seeing the big picture. This might make a lot of sense for larger organizations where hiring is very compartmentalized, but as a small startup it's infuriating. And since we often hire people who don't quite fit into a posted role, we'd like to be able to create a new role or category for certain types of people, but Greenhouse takes you through a lengthy and detailed workflow to do that. It's not an easily adaptable, agile product for small companies that don't have highly structured HR departments or processes.
We do our job posts to our website through it, and that's a very smooth integration. We do our applicant tracking as well. That has been more frustrating than when we used a different solution, but it's better than nothing.
Best ATS I've ever used! Greenhouse has been an effective and user-friendly tool that fits the needs of our organization well! Creating a great candidate experience is easy with follow-up reminders, email templates, and integrations that make the process feel smooth. Hiring managers can review and easily assess candidates through feedback tools within Greenhouse. The platform's candidate activity feeds and communication tools between recruiters and the hiring team ensure that our communication is transparent and trackable. Overall it's a positive experience for our teams!
The reporting functions are slightly customizable but can be a little difficult to navigate properly. Additionally, adding interview stages that can be saved in an area as opposed to having to be copied from another job would help. Also, I enjoy having templates but they aren't always easy to access unless they are in draft mode.
Greenhouse helps our company live our mission by building an excellent employee experience which starts with their first interaction with our company as a candidate. Our goal is to utilize this tool to create equitable hiring experiences on both candidate and hiring team side, and help us make the best decision in hiring for our teams. There are features that we haven't even used to their fullest yet! Greenhouse rocks!
