I love how receptive they are to feedback, constantly willing to listen to user experiences and needs to make it better. Reports are ver customizable but my most used feature is onboarding. Bamboo makes it easy to welcome new employees and share trainings. It is great for time tracking, clocking in and out, and keeping track of time off. We also use it as a pin board for posting announcements.
Perhaps more Canadian specific content - the product is geared more towards USA.

Ease of use and set up for our internal people team and self-service for Managers and individual contributors. It saves time for us. It requires no programming or customization really.
Not being able to customize more fields in the performance review module and having set up as a two-way blind. Execs aren't fans of that. If they could offer the option of turning the 2 way blind off or allowing us to customize more questions that would be helpful.
Strong tracking of employment history, salaries, time off, integration with our ATS (greenhouse), org charts, onboarding employees through the onboarding tasks, etc.

This software saves time and keeps information organized for onboarding, offboarding, company directory, PTO requests, organization chart, compensation/status change approvals. No more paper employee files!
The simplicity and ease of use are my favorite things. We have employees of education levels and varying degrees (and lack thereof) of tech savvy individuals and all find it easy to use.
Sometimes it's too simple. No reporting tied to Attendance Policy violations or deviation from schedule this is a manual process which is really time consuming. However, that same simplicity is sometimes too simple and we loose capability or complexity that would be nice. Most of this occurs with the Time & Attendance function. We would love to have scheduling capability and notifications related to violations of the company policy (tardies, unexcused absences, etc).
BHR continues to make improvements and enhance functions which we love. Recent example is the new ability to create Performance Evaluation questions specific to different departments. Previously we had to apply the same questions to all participating employees so to be able to have dept and job specific questions is a big improvement.
We have been using Bamboohr since 2017, and everyone (managers and employees) loves it. Basically, nearly everything I need to do on an HR basis is there. We have grown from around 20 employees to 54 during this time, and the On-boarding is great! I can't speak highly enough about it!
Small negative but I would have liked to be able to have non-employees approve holiday etc.
Onboarding & task assignments, file storage, approval of holiday, signing important documents, performance review and loads more.
The goals section is nicely flushed out in how you can set them but all adjust the progress bar along the way.
I think the UX experience could be adjusted to make it easier to navegate.

What I like the most is BambooHR is very simple to navigate for both employers and employees. It also includes a lot of features that I can use like time clock in, reports, benefit administration etc.
I know that BambooHR has already been in the market for a while and they are constantly improving their software. However, there are some features that our company need is not able to set up on BambooHR. For example, it will be hard for employees to submit time clock changes, and employers have to change it individually. Also, for time off, our company policy won't accrual paid time off if the employee is on unpaid time off. BambooHR doesn't allow this kind of setup. They have a feedback channel through which I submitted these requests. Hopefully, I can see these changes in the future.
We solved a lot by using BmabooHR. It includes announcement, timeclock, employee signature, employee online profile, benefits, reports, Hiring etc. Some of these feature is updated version.
Great for smaller businesses, maybe not for the biggest companies. Very solid uptime. Reporting is solid, but a little perfunctory. The employee file system is easy to use and configurable,
It does so many different things, it struggles to be the best of breed of everything. The onboarding stuff is solid and improving. I think some of the visuals are a little dated.
Our HRIS & onboarding tool - is a great and simple tool to bring it all to life in a single ecosystem. Having it all in one area is very helpful. Means we have it all in one view.
It's a great application that can be integrated with multiple apps.

We just started using BambooHR so my review right now is based on the implementation and initial set-up. That being said, the platform itself is very intuitive, easy to roll out. Implementation was particularly smooth due to the hands-on help of the Project Manager walking me through every step of the way - from one-off questions outside of our scheduled calls to making custom tables and fields to meet our needs. Overall, I like the price, the customer service, and that the platform comes with everything we needed right out of the box. Highlights for me: customized access levels, customized Time Off policies, org chart, basic ATS.
Still so new to the platform, I haven't yet found what doesn't work for us yet. I suppose it would be nice to have more pay types or to be able to customize it.
To have all our data in one place - 1) everything from job and salary history, to PTO requests, to the org chart, and 2) to increase ease and transparency for our employees to have access to their information (pay, contact, PTO, benefits, etc.). The benefits are productivity and efficiency.
Bamboohr is very customizable and allows for a lot of unique settings. We're a highly global company with lots of regionally specific requirements - BambooHR allows us to put in the required custom fields and access levels to facilitate this.
Given the level of customization, it can be hard to keep up with new features/changes in product capibilities. There are some scalability issues (e.g. access settings) and configuration that would make life easier if they were addressed

This platform is great for a lot of HR management. In addition to tracking PTO and special dates (birthdays and work anniversaries) you can get paycheck info here and do internal reviews. Also great for org charts!
I wish there was more do it yourself for self and direct report reviews.

One place for managing our entire employee data & PMS & recruiting processes. It has made managing the entire data so easy, especially now that we have gone remote. It is super user friendly - has made life easier for conducting employee performance reviews.
The user interface is good for data management & PMS, however, the ATS's interface could have been better & also sending bulk email via Bamboo HR is not as automated as other tools.

BambooHR is an America-based company, thus having the USA law and policy as a default. So to include things like a European holiday setup requires a bit more work.

Hiring process and onboarding process are completely automated now. Time tracking is simple now. PTO tracking works flawlessly. Employee records are all online now.
BambooHR is an intelligent, user-friendly system that allows me to keep all things HR in one easy-to-access location. We currently link BambooHR with our TalentLMS software and the integration is wonderful.
The training repository would be the one thing I would update in BambooHR. Having to access the settings to add a training title that has not been used before when attempting to log them in an individual profile is frustrating. Ideally, the drop-down list would have the option of "add new" and when selected would let you add the new title there or bring you to the settings section to create and then return you to the profile you were working within.
BambooHR is the first tool we use when onboarding and orienting new staff. Prior to using BambooHR 90% of our new hires were missing one or more components of their new hire setup (computer, keys, login credentials, etc.). Since developing our onboarding through BambooHR 90%+ of our new hires have zero missing components on their first day.
Bamboo HR is pretty intuitive to use and the help desk is always helpful.
Sometimes I don't think it is as robust as it could be, there are some reports that I would like to be able to pull using different parameters than what is available.
Less paperwork, easier onboarding, keeping interview notes and information in one central location.
