Timely access to insights - ability to build a report during a meeting Easy to add our own event metadata - critical for complex products where features/event codes exist in parts of your product Bi-directional user flows (second and third order use case impact) Custom cohorts & events (simple for PMs to join event codes) Price - MTU is a great pricing model for high price point products vs. seat-based pricing. Exceeding our license with Mixpanel is a good problem to have. Customer service - our rep holds bi-weekly office hours where the team can drop in and ask questions Data security & anonymization - identifying user information not sent / cannot be parsed out which was critical to the implementation of a 3rd party solution
Difficult to build custom feature taxonmies/hierarchies No vertical or time series bar charts Unable to create data table view with custom calculations in individual columns. Presentations often require exporting the underlying data. Unable to bucket the small elements into a single "other" bucket in breakdowns
Analysis in Mixpanel is ubiquitous in product decision making. It is an excellent tool for understanding user behavior especially for sophisticated software/platforms. A few examples: Day of release monitoring. Core product dashboards for weekly standups Understanding where users churn in key product workflows Instant analysis into key feature metrics (adoption, stickiness, velocity). Client segmentation & breakdowns by user/feature parameters. Measuring impact to 1st/2nd/3rd order use cases in A/B testing. Mixpanel provides the value of 10+ dedicated analysts at a fraction of the cost. The majority of PMs are daily or weekly active users of Mixpanel. It's a great product and they continue to push out feature releases/improvements at an impressive pace. Nice work, Mixpanel team!
Simplistic and easy-to-navigate tool, the best part is saving reports and creating funnels and segmentation. Mixpanel is also easy to setup on the website. I haven't tried the AB test feature but will sure use that in future scenarios as well if required.
Pricing is too costly for the events per price other competitors are giving similar features for lower price.
The best part of using Mixpanel is to create funnels of two different pages and understand the conversion rate dropoff of customers.
The thing I like best about Mixpanel is the great UX and ease of use. It helps our PMs get their answers super fast. It's a matter of minutes until you get value from using Mixpanel. It's probably the best out there in that regard. This is why our PMs love Mixpanel.
Historically, the downside of Mixpanel was pricing. They had 2 separate plans for people and events which made it really not scalable. But they listened to the feedback and created a much fairer and more scalable pricing structure. You just need to talk with their sales people. Another thing that's less great about Mixpanel is how effective it is, or how easy it is, to find answers for more complicated questions. But Mixpanel wasn't really designed for it. Or at least we're not using it for it.
Getting fast and accurate answers about the behaviour of our users. When our PMs want to check the performance of their work, Mixpanel is the go to place. Mixpanel helped us avoid hiring product analysts for a long while. And even when we scaled and hired analysts, they use it too to get faster answers (compared to using BI tools).
Intuitive and easy UI, comprehensive data and product insights, integration with a vast range of mobile tools
Nothing, the tool is awesome! We consistently get good feedback on part of our clients and love to use it on their behalf
We use it on part of our clients to identify key product optimizations to ensure the success of our app growth strategies. The pricing is great is definitely value for your buck.
We got lots of help to analyze and visualize data. The way it charges is also favorable for me. Earlier with Amplitude, they charged in proportional to data points. That's why we migrated from Amplitude.
So far, so good. Nothing particularily bothers me. Hopefully, the tool could be extended to attribution tracking for web and app.
Earlier, we needed to bring developers to analyze data all the time. It takes time and effort to do so. Now, most of the works are done without needing to ask for dev's help. Devs are also benefited from data visualization. Not only data extraction, its visualization was also costly.
Mixpanel is easy to use and enables the users to speedily make graphs and charts with only a few points and clicks. The user interface is well-arranged. Mixpanel offers flexible campaigns that are well-suited for small startups too. Mixpanel provides consistent and precise client behavior analytics for mobile as well as web apps. Mixpanel evaluates and then displays the data in a way that is powerful, wide-ranging, and easy to comprehend.
It is not cost-effective. Enormous sizes of the data slow down Mixpanel. You must import the information and make visualizations by yourself, if you desire to modify the appearance and feel into your company’s apps and designs. The facility of simply rolling up plans into a bigger scheme even without having to replicate the information is a major absence that reduces the global worth of this product.
It links events together with the user traits permitting them to accurately part users into associations that can be followed independently. Mixpanel provides you a simple and upfront user interface enabling you to determine how people react within your application giving you a quicker view of how they practice it. In this way, it delivers intuitions of how to enhance the quality of your products.
Mixpanel is an amazing tool having ease of implementation and documentation. It is very cost-effective. It helps collect important data points and access them. It is very easy to understand, user-friendly and well-designed. It has an inbuilt messaging function which is a plus point. It is flexible in its action and easy to incorporate into the application. It offers access to visualize the data of user events without the involvement of IT.
Sometimes the data is erroneous and is challenging to investigate it properly. Documentation of Mixpanel is supportive but sometimes misapprehension of the results also occurs. If the data size is very large then the system becomes slow. Customer support is not accurate and API is not very accessible. Its paid versions are quite costly when compared to the related analytical tools in the market. You cannot have the same event for both the web and the mobile apps, you have to generate and track them independently.
It is a tool that scales your app based on the events. Many companies use Mixpanel to track a series of events generates sales funnel and commercial trends. It offers a more comprehensive and targeted service as compared to many other analytics services. Data transferred by Mixpanel has a lot of possibilities. It helps in collecting and improving the products on the basis of the user’s actions.
It's easy to find value on Mixpanel. I feel like it's flexible enough so I can customize my analysis easily and at the same time I don't feel afraid of "breaking" anything. As a non-developer, that makes me feel confident while using it.
If I could set experiments directly thru Mixpanel I think my experience would be complete. Today, we use launchdarkly, but having everything in the same place would be awesome.
Mixpanel is making measuring and interpreting results feel effortless. It also helps me explain the results, as the visualization it brings is clear.
