The ability to pick different work styles and my own hours. The ability to browse different types of client. The pre-vetting means most clients can get straight on with work rather than lengthy interviews and tests.
It would be helpful to have a couple more software tools available under a corporate license.
Work life balance is much better. Global client list and experience grows quickly. Fast payments.
That Toptal facilitates job applications and payment collection, as well as good communication from internal Toptal team
Lack of communication from clients, jobs cancelled
Lead generation, high-profile clients
I don't have to think about getting clients. They make an awesome job matching me with potential clients.
There's really nothing negative about working at toptal.
I've been working with both legacy code and super new technologies. It all depends on the client. But all of it has been fun and exciting.
Being able to work with good clients all over the world
Not having paid vacations and not having a dependable job where you don't know when it will end
Reaching clients all over the world and not worrying about getting paid
Freedom to work remotely, varied projects and clients.
Lack of office can make the experience lonely at times.
User experience and design related problems to do with FinTech and healthcare primarily.
Way of questioning is very good to check my ability.
Questions are quietly lengthy so take more time .
My own Ability test shown very clearly.
The things I value the most are the projects, for there are always great projects to choose. The application process for a project is simple, and the payment flow is smooth. All these factors help me save an ample amount of time which I use towards the billable hour. The process is clean and safe.
Nothing from which I can think. Everything is nice.
The development problems varied from client to client.
The turn by turn onboarding and notifying about the next step. the whole process looks like it's tailored for individuals.
The fact that there is a waiting period of 30 days, if you cannot pass the test.
The problem that I am solving is to set a benchmark for who I am, and I want to be the top 3%
The toptal talent portal is great. Payments are on time. Can transfer funds almost everywhere. The resume builder is state-of-the-art.
I can not transfer funds to Turkiye(Turkey). Companies can end contracts without any grace period.
Finding roles that fit my skill set. Freedom to set the number of hours I want to work. Freedom to work from anywhere in the world. Freedom to have longer vacations.
I got my first freelance gig through Toptal and I've been getting good gigs that pay well consistently through Toptal since then.
I wish the commission rates were somewhat transparent, but it's not a deal-breaker.
Toptal connects me with high-quality clients.
Finding jobs is very easy, and the contract process is rapid.
sometimes some recruiters send me work offers that are not part of my skills
Toptal is providing developers to companies that need them. It is a win-to-win for all.
- Pays well and on time - Free training programs to improve my skillset - Helpful support team
The conversion rate for payment is a bit nasty, you'd get a better rate elsewhere
Getting clients is much easier compared to finding your own.
Access to high quality customers working on interesting projects.
Some client contacts are shorter than advertised
I'm able to expand my exposure to new technologies I'm interested in. I'm able to take on multiple clients and increase my ability to generate income from my home.
All organisational matters are handled by recruiters. As a specialist you can solely focus on doing your job. The company covers your back, i.e. you are guaranteed to pay provided you did the job even if something happened on client's side whether they can't or for whatever reason don't want to pay.
You can feel the pressure from recruiters when trying to raise your hourly rate. Though this is "expected," - this is something that the company's business model is based on. They charge clients more than talent costs, which lets the company exist and be one of the best remote work marketplaces.
Outsourcing for the most part. Benefits of working with amazing people.
There are always great projects to choose from.
I think they need to work just on there UI part to attract more people.
Topmost benefit i have realized is gaining knowledge. With Toptal I am working with multiple projects in multiple languages.
Topal with talented people and working with trsuted ones
Process it takes to verify details is long and should be quick
I am solving machine learning research problems. Gaining knowledge and connection with worldwide.
I got a really good UX designer who could work to the requirement, had good ideas and produced a nice result. Was also easy to work with. The process of finding the UX designer was also quite easy. Toptal listened to what I wanted and produced a few candidates.
I was lucky to find a good designer for my project. The other candidates did not seem as good. Also, I don't like dealing with the billing function in Toptal. They can be unprofessional and threatening if there is a payment problem.
Resourcing. I avoid the cost of search for suitable candidates. I got to work very quickly once the right individual was located. I have reengaged the designer multiple times for additional work and been very please each time.
I got connected to a few highly skilled professional within a few days after reaching out to Toptal. It was easy and required a minimal efforts on my part.
All the help to find a good talent comes at recurring cost of paying talant's fees.
Allows to quickly find professional with required skills.
I enjoy the fact that Toptal provides a large stream of jobs for me to apply for. Even if I don't have a specific skillset, I can pay attention to the trends of work that are coming in and tweak my own skills accordingly.
Despite their claims that they vet their incoming clients, I have had several interviews with clients that were low quality, and unprepared to work with a developer. However, these are not extremely common.
Toptal gives me a platform to interact with clients. Without Toptal, I would have a much harder time finding consistent freelance work, and would likely need to use another network, or find regular employment at a tech company.
The easiness to get a job here. the role of recruiter are. very important in getting new job here.
1. Some recruiters are not responsive. 2. No guideline on how to set our rate. There was some pages on toptal few years ago that give some idea how much we should set our rate depending on our skills and region but those page are gone now. It would be good if toptal brings back those pages and update them periodically. 3. Its hard to get job from big companies. almost all clients I got are startups.
getting IT job from abroad is easy and very convenient
